The official start of the 2022 high school softball season at Bear River High doesn’t start until the end of February but before that happens, one senior is already planning ahead for the future. And it involves plenty of softball.

McCall Maxfield, a senior at Bear River High and a 3-year member of the Lady Bears softball team, has signed a letter of intent to play college softball at Snow College next year. The signing event took place at Snow College in Ephraim, Utah, on November 8, and was attended by other high school seniors signing their letters of intent.

During Maxfield’s junior year at Bear River High, she helped the softball team win the 4A state championship title last May in Spanish Fork. As the Lady Bears’ starting varsity second baseman, at the plate she finished the season with a .477 batting average including 17 doubles, 9 triples, 7 homeruns and 49 runs total.
