NEWS - "Motorist safe after vehicle bursts into flames"

HONEYVILLE - May 2, 2022

A motorist traveling northbound on I-15 near milepost 372, about 8 p.m., on Monday, May 2, noticed engine problems in his vehicle, a 2001 Blazer, and pulled off the Honeyville exit.

According to Box Elder County Fire Marshal Corey Barton, it was just minutes later when the interior filled with smoke and flames began shooting from under the hood. The driver immediately exited the vehicle.

Although crews from the Central Box Elder Fire District brought an engine from Honeyville and another from Bear River City and were joined by BEC Fire to battle the blaze, the passenger car was a total loss.

Barton said an ambulance was dispatched from Tremonton but was not needed.
